Reliable Testing and Compassionate Care
If you suspect you may be pregnant, Women’s Clinic of Atlanta is prepared to meet you with compassion, expert care, and the resources you need to ensure you make the decision that’s right for you. Our free pregnancy test services include a health screening with our licensed women’s sexual healthcare providers and a referral to community resources if you require additional care.
Early Detection Blood Pregnancy Testing
While blood tests are not routinely performed to diagnose a pregnancy, they are a reliable method of assessing for pregnancy and may be available depending on the results of your health assessment. The test looks for a hormone called hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin). The presence of this hormone typically indicates pregnancy and can be detected six days after conception.
Reliable Urine Pregnancy Testing
A urine pregnancy test is also a reliable method of assessing for pregnancy and provides faster results than a blood pregnancy test without the need for a blood sample. The presence of hCG typically indicates pregnancy ten days after an egg’s fertilization and attachment to the uterine wall. Most people schedule a urine pregnancy test around the time of a missed period.
Proof of Pregnancy for Medicaid
In Georgia, if you believe you may be pregnant, you may also be eligible for immediate Medicaid coverage. Patients who receive a positive pregnancy test at one of our clinics can receive assistance with the Medicaid application process. Our Social Services team is well-versed in completing the necessary forms and ensuring the required documents are included.
What to Expect During Your Pregnancy Test Appointment:
- To respect your privacy, we ask your friends or family to wait in the lobby while we conduct your test.
- You are welcome to include a support person in the care room once the initial medical conversation has been completed.
- You’ll receive your pregnancy test results during your appointment. Our pregnancy tests are 99.9% accurate and detect the presence of the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) pregnancy hormone as early as the day before your first missed period.
- No matter the test results, the Women’s Clinic of Atlanta team will offer compassionate support and information on your options, including abortion.
